On October 17th, we celebrated the four-year anniversary of the regional lead LeanIn chapter and leader of the first Lean in Circle in the GCC, lean in Arabia, which I co-founded in 2014. The mission of the Lean In Circle is to provide women with small groups that meet monthly, with the ultimate goal of encouraging and supporting one another in an atmosphere of confidentiality and trust. We started our journey with one lean in circle in 2014, with six other women who were also looking for a safe space to share, explore and enjoy peer support. Four years later, we are thrilled to see that our incredible, collaborative group of women has reached over 600 women, with different circles in other cities and even countries in the region. Over the last four years, we have not only promoted inclusiveness, but we strive to practice and spread a community sense at the workplace. Our group is a safe space where we promote diversity and inclusion, and this year, our goal is to spread that message across all companies and industries. By promoting a collaborative, open atmosphere, we can increase the amount of engagement, and a sense of well being in today’s workforce.
We are proud of the success stories that emerged from our space. I remain committed to my mission of contributing to creating spaces for women to thrive. I am truly grateful for all of the incredible members, who enrich our monthly gatherings with their full presence and generous sharing of their narrative. They continuously bring their openness and willingness to push the boundaries, and as a result, we feel that we have matured as a space to take it to the next level of inclusiveness. Stay tuned to find out more about our plans for this next year, where our space will strive to cultivate more inclusiveness in the Middle East.
